bonda soup recipe



INGREDIENTS

FOR BONDA:

  • 1 cup urad dal
  • 1 chillifinely chopped
  • 1 inch gingerfinely chopped
  • few curry leaveschopped
  • 2 tbsp corianderfinely chopped
  • ½ tsp peppercrushed
  • 2 tbsp dry coconutchopped
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • oil for frying

FOR DAL SOUP:

  • ¾ cup moong dal
  • 1 tbsp gingerfinely chopped
  • 3 chillislit
  • 1 tomatofinely chopped
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  •  cup water
  • 3 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp cumin / jeera
  • pinch hing / asafoetida
  • few curry leaves
  • 3 cup water
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp coconutgrated
  • 2 tbsp corianderchopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

FOR SERVING (1 PLATE):

  • 2 tbsp onionfinely chopped
  • 1 tbsp corianderfinely chopped


  1. firstly, in a small bowl place 1 bonda. to prepare bonda 
  2. top with ladleful of moong dal soup.  however make sure to keep it soupy consistency.
  3. top with 2 tbsp chopped onions and 1 tbsp coriander.
